A minister of a church in Auburn, Alabama convinced me the child I was carrying was a complete mistake and was more than happy to set up arrangements for my illegal abortion. My boyfriend and I flew to New York City. Before noon it was finished.
As I lay in recovery, I was filled with shame and guilt. In my weakness, I had been persuaded to make a terrible, heartbreaking CHOICE. I was also convinced that God would never again want anything to do with me. Satan had entered a room of my heart and had locked the door.
But now, through the blood of Christ, I have been set free. I have accepted God’s loving gift of grace. The fact is Satan not only seeks to destroy one life through abortion, he seeks to destroy at least two. But, we claim victory when we accept God's unconditional love. We all have the opportunity to turn what was meant for evil into something good for the Kingdom of God.
“And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
I don’t believe there is any other program out there that could more fully provide full Biblical healing than Forgiven and Set Free. The last 12 weeks have been an amazing journey of experiencing God to the fullest -- as my Restorer, my Healer, my Comforter, my Provider, my Way Maker, the One who makes ALL things new, the One who loves me unconditionally, the One who holds my dreams in His hands.
Every week has been a confirmation of His Power and His Strength; that He longs to Forgive and Set the Captives Free. And, when He sets you free, you are free indeed! God has been glorified and honored through this study. The ladies dedicated to leading this program are filled with His love, His grace, and His mercy. They create a “safe haven” in which to share all the pain, sorrow, and grief of the past. There are so many women in our society who desperately need to experience this program to be set free!
